Upgraded N-8000 SIP Gateway

10.Jan.2024

Upgraded N-8000 SIP Gateway with enhanced communication capabilities.

TOA Canada’s N-8000 IP intercom system, known for its reliability and flexibility, utilizes the N-8000 SIP Gateway software to integrate with SIP telephone systems including TOA Canada’s N-SP80 SIP intercom products. Never satisfied with the status quo, TOA engineering is happy to announce the second version of the N-8000SG with enhanced features and functions, creating a wider solution capacity.

The N-8000 SIP Gateway has been a core solution for installers particularly when upgrading a facility operating TOA IP intercom system needing to add TOA’s SIP system. The software now provides improved two-way communication and increased reach between our N-8000 system and our sleek and modern N-SP80. “By modifying the software, TOA has improved the settings structure of the N-8000 to convert SIP protocols and audio communication to the N-8000 series and vice versa,” stated Product Development Engineer Ibrahim Chehade. “We have opened up the system to operate within the five speech paths available but now dial specific desk stations covering an unlimited amount of N-8000 locations. The other key transformation is that a person can call a specific extension in both directions and have the call display the extension from where the call originated show up on the other end.

The new SIP Gateway development also focused on improving the paging function to N-8000 door stations through the SIP master station. “By pressing a couple of dial pad codes, individuals can page to one zone or multiple zones,” said Warren Strem, TOA’s Western Regional Sales Manager. Moreover, door remote controls can be accessed through the     N-SP80 master station across the gateway. There are other functions possible by using the five control outputs accessible on the door stations.

N-8000 SIP Gateway is tested with a SIP server of Cisco Systems, Asterisk, FreeSwitch, and Sipelia of Genetec Security Center. The compatibility with these systems offers a greater versatility to meet project requirements.

The ability to ensure TOA Canada’s IP and SIP platforms smooth integration, drove the Canadian company to spend the time and effort to upgrade our N-8000 SIP Gateway. Engineers and installers will see the tangible difference with this version and the greater suitability for many intercom and paging projects.
