Yukon College Gymnasium, Whitehorse, YK
Yukon College is a university and community college in the Canadian territory of Yukon. Its main campus is in Whitehorse, Yukon. The college was founded in 1983, subsuming the Yukon Vocational and Technical Training Centre that had been in operation since the 1960s.
Purpose
Yukon College was in need of an upgrade to their sound system in the main gymnasium, as their current set was not meeting the needs of the activities performed at the college.
Challenge
Addressing the Volume in the gymnasium along with the overall coverage and minimizing reverberation.
Solution
Converted to TOA's 900 series amplifiers to create more power. A secondary benefit of changing to the new amplifiers is that it became a space saver with the smaller more reliable wall amplifiers.
Feedback
The college is happy with this first phase and is in consult for a potential replacement of the speaker system.
