Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School (YCMHS) is a secondary school located in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. It is part of the Tri-County Regional School Board and is the only high school in the town of Yarmouth. The high school serves the town of Yarmouth as well as the rest of Yarmouth County.

Purpose

The YCMHS was a new and large school designed by CBCL. The education facility called for classroom systems in each classroom, paging capabilities and a full gymnasium solution.

Challenge

CBCL has worked with TOA equipment and was very confident that they would be ideal for the new school. After insuring the equipment would integrate with other school systems, the TOA brand was specified on the final design. 

Solution

By utilizing TOA’s IR-800 voicelift system in the classrooms, students were guaranteed a better sound field when the teacher and other students spoke. The gymnasium was setup with a powerfull DA amplifier to power the HX-5 pro sound speakers. For presentation and vocals the 5000 series condenser microphone. The 9000 series matrix mixer was used to control the audio solution.  

Feedback

When the new school opened to staff and students, the TOA audio and communication worked perfectly and sounded incredible. attendees at the first school assembly commented on the amazing clarity of the new Hx-5 array speakers.
