Purpose

Management chose to upgrade the audio system in two of Terroni's locations, with a goal of improving the clarity of the audio delivered to visitors (and in doing so enhancing the restaurants' atmosphere overall). More power was also required to ensure that low-frequency sound didn't lag behind in this upgrade.

Challenge

The restaurants were in older buildings with many rooms and walls and tight quarters. The ceilings were also low, so the TOA team had a challenge to design an audio system that sounded clear and covered the majority of the facility. However, because of the small scale of the restaurant, the audio needed to be well-powered but not too loud.

Solution

TOA’s design team required specific designs tailored for each restaurant. Although somewhat similar in layout, each location had intricacies that required special attention and tweaking to component quantities. Several speaker types were used; from the F-1000 box speakers placed near the bar area, to F-series ceiling speakers in more common areas which were used for their wide sound dispersion capabilities. The aesthetically pleasing pendant speakers were used along with the FB subwoofer to deliver superb sound to guests. The system was powered by the reliable DA-250 power amplifier. AT-100 attenuators were used throughout the facility to control the volume in different areas. 

Feedback

Once the installations were complete the integrator tested the system many times at the request of management, conclusions were that both restaurants sounded great! Additionally, this was a large improvement over the previous audio system.
