Sports Complexes

Montreal Soccer Stadium is a sports complex located in the Saint-Michel/Villeray/Parc-Extension district of Montreal. The stadium contains indoor and outdoor soccer fields, offices, public spaces and can seat 750 spectators in its stands. I t has 2 floors and is 37 400 sq/ m.

Purpose

The soccer stadium required a Public Address Stem for the soccer field area as well as a general paging system for the rest of the building. The system needed to be crystal clear and be controlled from multiple locations for easy access by multiple people.

Challenge

The challenge of the large stadium project was delivering a high performing audio and paging system within budget.

Solution

The engineering firm behind the stadium design specified TOA equipment for the audio & public address system because of our expertise. TOA recommended the M-9000 series matrix mixer as the head end of the system. On field audio was powered by HX-5 compact array speakers with subwoofers. Both powered by the formidable DA-550F power amplifiers. The rest of the building, like offices and change rooms, were equipped with the F series wide dispersion speakers and PC-580 speakers running with DA-250 FH amplifiers.

Feedback

With the amazing work by the TOA team along with the installation team, the audio system was tested to rave reviews by stadium staff. They were ecstatic with the sound quality and how the speakers looked throughout the building.
