House of Worship

The chapel is a main focus for the local community and hosts many events along with church services.

Purpose

The community based Selkirk Chapel was operating a fairly old audio system which had began wearing down. They began the process of carrying out a renovation to upgrade their existing sound system with a focus to improve the quality for intelligibility during mass and announcements, and also live performance and presentation during events.

Challenges

With the age of the building sound tended to be a little low. TOA’s task was to design a sound system that would deliver better sound and directivity during live band performances and presentations.

Solution

The TOA solution started with utilizing the versatile A-912MK2 Mixer Power Amplier at the head end. With the size of the facility the powerful 4 channel DA-500F amplier was selected to ensure that the speaker distribution received enough wattage to broadcast a variety of audio. The HX-5 and subwoofer were used in the main chapel section and the F series speakers were used in all other areas.

Feedback

After hearing the system and observing the type of control they now have the Chapel sta was very happy and the congregation really noticed the intelligible sound emanating from the HX-5’s.
