Purpose
The goal of this project was to implement an outdoor audio system capable of delivering both high-quality background music and clear paging announcements throughout the village. The system needed to enhance the visitor experience while supporting operational communications across the park's outdoor attractions and gathering spaces.
Challenges
Operating in a year-round outdoor environment presented several challenges. The system needed to withstand Quebec's harsh seasonal weather conditions, including snow, rain, humidity, and temperature fluctuations. At the same time, it was important to maintain clear speech intelligibility for announcements while providing pleasant, evenly distributed background music that complemented the park's festive atmosphere.
Solution
A straightforward and reliable solution built around the BG-2000 Series amplifier and CS-154 Wide Range Weatherproof Speakers was chosen for this project. Designed for outdoor applications, the CS Series speakers offer excellent weather resistance, high efficiency, and strong musical performance, making them well suited for both background music and paging applications. The BG-2000 Series amplifier provides simple operation while supporting both music playback and paging functionality from a centralized platform. Together, these components create a system that delivers consistent audio coverage throughout the park, helping immerse visitors in the holiday spirit while ensuring important announcements can be heard clearly when needed.
Feedback
The system has been operating reliably for some time now, providing dependable performance in a challenging outdoor environment. Visitors can enjoy festive music throughout the park while staff benefit from clear and effective paging capabilities. The installation continues to support the welcoming atmosphere that has made Village du Père Noël a cherished destination for generations of Quebec families.
