Government

The RMC is the military college of the Canadian Armed Forces, and is a degree-granting university focused on training military officers. The RMC was established in 1876 and is the only federal institution in Canada with degree-granting powers.

Purpose

It was important to the College that they would be able to communicate throughout the entirety of the campus, including all the buildings on the grounds; therefore, an intercom system needed to be installed.

Challenge

With a vast campus and multiple buildings, TOA was tasked with designing an intercom system that can be controlled from one place and maintain secure door access throughout the campus. Additionally, with it being such an iconic and historical building, there was a desire to minimize the visual footprint wherever possible.

Solution

TOA designed and recommended the IP Intercom System to provide campus-wide communications, from building to building and throughout the facility. A Network Intercom Exchange was installed with 11 Multifunctional Master Stations so that users can page, call, and communicate.

Feedback

The College was excited and satisfied with the new IP intercom system and was very satisfied with its performance.
