Purpose

Roy Thomson Hall remains a cornerstone of Toronto’s vibrant arts and culture scene. As the home of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and a venue for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the facility welcomes thousands of visitors each year and requires clear, reliable communication at all public interaction points.

Challenges

This project focused on a targeted upgrade to ticket window intercom systems, improving communication between staff and patrons at the box office. Clear voice transmission is essential in this environment to ensure efficient service and a positive visitor experience.

Solution

There were communication issues through glass, as the existing intercom systems experienced reduced clarity due to glass barriers at ticket windows. This led to difficulty maintaining intelligible conversation in a high‑traffic, public setting.

Feedback

Our N-XC65-WP IP Intercom System was selected to enhance communication at ticket counters. Designed specifically for environments with physical barriers, the system delivers improved voice clarity and intelligibility through glass, allowing staff and customers to communicate more effectively.

The upgrade provided a straightforward improvement without requiring major infrastructure changes, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations while significantly enhancing usability at the point of service.
