Founded in 1939, RONA inc. has grown into one of Canada’s leading home improvement retailers, operating a network of over 425 corporate and affiliated dealer stores across the country. Serving both professionals and DIY customers, RONA locations are designed to support a wide range of retail, warehouse, and outdoor lumber yard environments.
Purpose
The objective of this multi‑location project was to implement reliable paging and background music (BGM) systems across various RONA stores. Clear communication is essential for customer service announcements, staff coordination, and creating a consistent in‑store experience.
Challenges
Challenges involved a need for a cost‑effective solution deployable across multiple store locations. System design involved varied environments including indoor retail spaces and outdoor lumber yards, with a requirement for simple operation and consistent performance across all zones.
Solution
TOA Sound solutions provided a practical and scalable audio solution tailored to the needs of retail and warehouse environments. BG‑2000 Series amplifiers were used to manage paging and background music across multiple zones, offering straightforward control and dependable performance.
A combination of pendant speakers (PE Series) for indoor retail areas and ceiling and horn speakers (PE and CS Series) for mixed/outdoor sapces and lumber yards ensured appropriate coverage in each space. This approach allowed each store to maintain clear announcements and consistent audio quality while keeping the system efficient and cost‑effective.
