Correctional Facilities

Located in Edmonton's north end, next to the Edmonton Young Offender Center, the new facility for Edmonton Remand Center can house up to 2,808 inmates in 10 different pods of units. The property covers approximately 16 hectares of land.

Purpose

The Edmonton Remand Center required an IP intercom system to control and monitor the facility, keep it secure and to communicate intelligibly with multi-zone paging.

Challenges

To integrate some of the current equipment that remained with TOA's IP intercom system and modules and amplifiers to ensure in the end all products work together reliably

Solution

Using various TOA IP intercom products provided the multi zone paging and intelligible communication throughout the building.

Feedback

The install team using TOA products did excellent work. The project was a success and works wonderfully.
