Sports Complexes

Located in central Ontario, the new arena was a goal of the community for 25 years. As part of the a great community centre, it contains an NHL size ice pad with seven dressing rooms.

Purpose

The Township of Cavan Monaghan invested in creating a community centre to that would become of focal point for activities. It include a NHL size ice pad and within that arena a full sound system needed to be designed. The community needed a system that delivered clear sound for guest to understand music and public announcements.

Challenge

The Township had a budget they did not want to exceed, which required our team to attempt different configuration with different equipment until the cost was accepted. They also wanted a powerful enough system to play music and have announcements heard through out the facility. With such a large space and various shapes that formed the building, reverberation was also a concern.

Solution

Our design team worked with the integrator to create a commanding audio output that created the excitement desired. We utilized the HX-5 to provide the sound and drove the speakers with the DA-500 amp. The sound was synthesized through the M-864D stereo mixer and DP-SP3 speaker processor, the quality sound outperformed expectations. For the hallways and dressing rooms the robust F-2352C were used and powered by our reliable BG-2060 mixer amplifier.

Feedback

The arena became a place of pride for the community with many participating in skating events and hockey games. They were very happy with the sound quality and the support they received from TOA.
