Douglas Park is one of the most attractive sports field areas in the entire province. Sports Fields include the Canada Games Athletic Complex, an upgraded Liebel Field for minor football, a cricket pitch, a quartet of softball diamonds, multi-purpose open space, tennis and pickle ball courts as well as a disc golf course.
Centered around the track portion of the sports complex, this project required an audio befitting this large sports field. The desired new system needed to be able to handle public address and sound reinforcement, delivering clear communications to both the stands and the field, and also allowing commentators to interact with the crowd during events.
The two primary challenges of this project included physical space and environmental considerations. Given that it was a large open space, sound would have to travel large distances with minimal decay, the solution needed to be one that would deliver the best possible sound to audience and personnel on field/track alike. The city of Regina was worked with directly to ensure the exact specifications and desires were met for this project.
The system devised and subsequently revised by our partnering dealer checked all the boxes! Our HA-1010 and CS-761 speakers delivered reliable, high-performance coverage with the durability needed for challenging environments, ensuring that no one misses an announcement or message. The system was driven by the DP-SP2 for precise signal processing, while the M-864D handled mixing and control at the core of the installation. Input flexibility and control was added through the MW-41BT, creating a complete, integrated solution that reflects the heart of countless TOA installations.
The project ultimately differed from the initial design, but the close collaboration of all parties involved led to a refined solution that surpassed expectations—leaving the client thrilled with the exceptional performance of their TOA systems.
