The IR-310M is a lightweight, hands-free infrared wireless microphone. It is designed for use in the school classrooms and eliminates problems with interface or eavesdropping, allowing simultaneous use in adjacent classrooms. It is capable of operating on one of two selectable IR frequencies and two transmitters can work simultaneously. It is also capable of operation with one piece of rechargeable AA Ni-MH battery IR-210BT-2 for continuous operation up to 8 hours.

The Infrared Wireless Microphone shall be housed in a ABS resin white case measuring 54.2 (W) x 109 (H) x 27 (D) (2.13" x 4.29" x 1.06") and weighing 95 g (0.21 lbs.) with battery and strap. It shall include an integrated uni-directional condenser microphone featuring high sensitivity and clear sound and infrared emitter to transmit the infrared beam for communications. The Infrared Wireless Microphone shall be lightweight with unobtrusive styling. It shall be usable as hands-free or hand-held microphone. 8 hours operation shall be realized with a single rechargeable NiMH battery (AA). The microphone shall be equipped with an external microphone input terminal (ø3.5 monaural mini jack) allowing it to be used in combination with an optional microphone. Microphone sensitivity shall be adjustable to suit application. Function button shall be incorporated for use in paging or external device control via an optional interface unit. The microphone shall be equipped with sturdy clothing clip to prevent wobbling or rotation during hands-free use. Selectable one of 2 different frequencies. The unit shall have a frequency response of 100Hz to 12kHz and can accept a maximum Sound Pressure Level of 120dB. The Infrared Wireless Microphone shall be the TOA model IR-310M.
