Purpose
The team over at AgeCare Skypoint was looking for a encompassing and straightforward solution for addressing mass communications to the residents of the building. With a primary goal of this installation being a system that would easily allow staff to deliver clear and intelligible communications to the residents and staff alike all throughout the premises.
Challenge
The location and desired functionality presented several obstacles for the team in Calgary, first of which being the sheer size of the residence, and with it the amount of zones that all required clear and intelligible sound. Sound itself was also an incredibly important factor, as residents in the building have differing sensitivities and capacities of hearing, meaning that a balance would need to be found to ensure the best possible experience for all residents and staff.
Solution
To guarantee coverage of the residence with comprehensible and innocuous sound, PC-580RU ceiling speakers were installed throughout, coupled with TOA’s SO-MIX-T-24V remote mixers to allow for easy and straightforward zone-based configuration at any time. At the center of it all, our N 8000 series serves as a streamlined central point of contact for staff to quickly address any and all residents with updates and communications.
Feedback
Both staff and residents are overjoyed with the system, with feedback being relayed to our team that the new system does everything the staff could’ve wanted and that residents find the announcements clear and intelligible. In line with AgeCare’s vision, TOA aided in producing a paging solution that ensured the absolute best quality of life of residents, whilst also removing abrasive touchpoints for staff.
