MacDonald Island Park, Fort McMurray, AB
Located in the Wood Buffalo Region, MacDonald Island Park is Canada’s largest community recreation, leisure and social centre. The Regional Recreational Corporation of Wood Buffalo, a not-for-profit corporation, operates the island.
Purpose
MacDonald Island Park wanted to create an arena sounding auditory experience. They required an audio system capable of producing intelligible sound while keeping the speakers inconspicuous.
Challenge
Being a recreation centre; hallways, sports areas, bleachers and the pool area all need to be taken into consideration. Such vast spaces require the minimization of reverberation and special equipment such as downward directional speakers.
Solution
Working with the installer, TOA Canada carefully selected the most effective equipment to be installed to create an atmosphere of intelligible sound and balanced coverage.
Feedback
The customer was very satisfied with the sheer quality of sound and the way TOA products were used effectively throughout their complex.
