House of Worship

Newly designed and built, the Reinland Church provides regular services to its congregation.

Purpose

The newly constructed church required a public address system to provide sound in all rooms of the building.

Challenge

As with most houses of worship, there are some challenges to overcome to provide the best possible sound. Often reverberation is high in houses of worship due to the high ceilings, glass windows, and structure of the church. Often rooms are very wide. And the church has multiple areas to cover. The entire facility required public address including the church, meeting rooms, hallways, etc.

Solution

To control reverberation inside the church, TOA's HX-7 and HX-5 compact line array speakers were used. Line arrays help to direct sound, reducing it from bouncing off surfaces, and instead, sending the sound right where it is needed, in clear, intelligible form. To cover the other rooms in the facility TOA's F Series ceiling speakers were used. These speakers provide a wide-dispersion coverage pattern, making them ideal for installation, as not only is intelligible sound achieved, but it can be done with fewer speakers. The system is powered by the A-912MK2 mixer power amplifier which controls and mixes up to eight independent input signals. The mixer power amplifier delivers up to 120 watts of output power. Optional plug-in modules are available for use with the mixer power amplifier to provide versatility for a wide range of operating applications. The power amplifier also has an input port to accept one plug-in module.

Feedback

The system was installed without issue and works without issue. With this TOA system in place members of the church are privy to any and all communications or messages delivered during a service through the system, regardless of where they are in the building.
