Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) provides re and EMS services to the City of Winnipeg, Manitoba. It operates from 27 re stations, 3 stand-alone ambulance stations, and 3 administration offices across the city. Established in 1882 and now employees over 1000 people.
The Fire Hall required an upgrade in their PA and Tone notifications audio system to ensure messages were understood quickly by staff, priorities could be set and deliver timed and repeat announcements.
The Fire Hall had many room with different sizes, a huge indoor parking area for the trucks with reverberation issues and the staff wanted an easy to use central unit that can be managed remotely via a network, be programmable and be ready for broadcast the moment it is needed.
Our design team worked closely with the local installer and recommended the CS-304 horn for the larger spaces in the building and for outside as well. The cost effective PC-580’s were used in the other areas of the Fire Hall and the entire system was powered by the DA-250 amplifier. As for the need for controlling the system and adding automatic triggered events, or repeat and pre-recorded messages along with the ability to play BGM, well the EV-700 took care of all of that; it’s quite the piece of equipment.
The end result was welcomed by the staff at the fire station, and the municipality was very satisfied with the overall system performance, ease of use and clear sound emanating from the speakers.
