Announces Infrared Cameras
TOA
Canada Corporation, manufacturer of premier security products for over 35 years,
announced the release of two new models of infrared cameras; C-CV454R-3: Outdoor Day/Night IR Camera; and the C-CV854R-3:
Vandal Resistant Day/Night IR Camera.
Each high-performance and high-resolution camera has been designed to
operate as a colour camera in daylight and as a highly sensitive monochrome
camera in darkness. In the nighttime, these cameras can view the subject even in
complete darkness, by automatically turning on a built-in infrared LED
illuminator capable of covering a visible range of up to 25m (82.02 ft.) (in
high-sensitivity mode). Thanks to the noise-reduction function, clear images can
be viewed, even under poor lighting conditions. Both cameras comply with the
IP66 standard, to be water and dust resistant to withstand outdoor use.
TOA’s
C-CV454R-3: Outdoor Day/Night IR Camera incorporates a 3X varifocal
lens, which facilitates the adjustment of the camera’s view angle during
installation. This, coupled with the noise reduction and 8X electronic
sensitivity boost functions that facilitate image monitoring at night through
digital processing, ensures that the camera will always capture clear images.
The camera body of TOA’s C-CV854R-3:
Vandal Resistant Day/Night IR Camera is made of die-cast aluminum alloy, with a
polycarbonate dome cover, ensuring a high degree of resistance to strong impacts
against 50 Joules of energy. This camera incorporates a 3-axis adjustment
mechanism and a 3X varifocal lens. By installing the TOA C-A854H
heater unit inside the camera housing, the camera may be used at ambient
temperatures as low as -30°C

RADIOHEAD
on tour with Trantec Wireless
Friday,
September 12, 2008: Fifteen
years after the release of their first single, and 25 million album sales later,
Radiohead continues a growth and development that ensures a stream of worldwide
sell-out concerts. In fact August saw them return to Canada and the States for
the second time this year following a successful 2 month European summer tour.
Supporting
the Grammy Award winning band throughout the tour is the Trantec S5.5 wireless
system. This UHF system can simultaneously operate up to 24 channels in ten
banks within its 35MHz window and was chosen specifically for the guitars of
Thom Yorke and Ed O’Brien.
Radiohead
Instrument Technician Pete Clements states, “The Trantec S5.5 instrument packs
have proved to be an excellent choice. We actually bought several sets as I find
it easier to allocate a dedicated system for each of Thom and Ed’s guitars. We
also bought further sets for use in the States as we had expected problems over
there with frequency management, but these Trantec systems have been rock solid.
They have been absolutely great anywhere that we’ve been, and as far as the
sound is concerned, I have nothing but good things to say. On top of all this I
have to praise the battery life, the packs just keep on going.”
As
well as the technical benefits of the systems, Pete Clements also praised
Trantec’s service back-up, and adds “If we ever raise any query with the
equipment, their technical department provides a very high level of support and
have been nothing but helpful. And they are always there to offer support whilst
we’re on the road.“
Based
on Trantec’s award winning S6000 series, the S5 benefits from high quality,
true-diversity operation utilizing credit card size beltpacks, frequency
autoscan, in-built Infra-red data link, single AA battery life of over 10 hours,
intuitive LCD displays, and professional metal enclosures for both transmitter
and receiver.
Trantec’s
Head of Sales and Marketing, Mark Parkhouse says, “The S5 Series promises a
powerful set of features and is available in handheld, instrument and lavalier
versions. It combines substantial performance capabilities with practical
flexibility to suit venues of any size.”

Spotlight
on Campus Communication
Communication
is becoming a very hot topic in the news lately. With an increasing need to
communicate with multiple buildings, it is important to have a communication
system that can deliver a message, quickly, effectively and to everyone in the
building. University and College campuses often have many buildings covering a
large geographic area. Often whole facility communication is non-existent
because traditional analog audio systems are impractical to implement, with the
facilities relying on the telephone system or e-mail. The telephone method
requires multiple calls to deliver the message, which is time consuming and
often not a practical form of communication in an emergency. An alternative form
of communication is e-mail. Again, not practical and not an effective form of
communication. Neither of these scenarios offer the sender confirmation that the
intended audience received the message in a timely manner.
Modern
communication methods are well established and include high bandwidth and high
speed LAN/WAN structures. Universities and Colleges invest a lot of resources
into these network, so why not implement a system that will use the existing
network? TOA has developed a network translation device for audio (VoIP),
allowing up to CD quality audio over a 10/100Base T network using TCP/IP
Protocol. The NX-100 Network Audio Adapter is a
stand-alone hardware network solution for delivering audio, contact closure
input, open collector output and RS-232c data streams. The NX-100
allows for effective communication from a central location to remote buildings
as in the case of a University or College campus. It will allow two-way
communication from a central source to all NX-100’s connected to
standard audio paging systems, individually, as a group and all call. By using
the NX-100 to communicate, the central/sending location can
be assured that the receiving destination/building has received the message by
utilizing an audio call back, and/or a remote activated switch using the NX-100
contact input.
The
operation of TOA’s VoIP system is simple to operate and maintain. Broadcast
patterns can be software or hardware (no computer required) activated. When a
message is required to be delivered to a single or multiple locations, the
operator will select the appropriate location using the TOA Operations Software.
Once this “patch” has been established, the START button is selected in the
software to commence the broadcast. Or simply select a switch (hardware
activated) that has been associated with a broadcast pattern. Additional
functionality can include remote strobe/siren activation with the broadcast
pattern and data transfer to pixel board or other RS-232c protocol aware data
display devices.
TOA Canada Corporation’s NX-100 Network Audio Adapter
can be used in many other applications including; voice distribution to remote
broadcast areas such as, roadside locations and railway stations; general
purpose broadcasts in supermarket chain stores, department stores and various
manufacturing plants; voice announcements and other sound distribution for large
environments including airports and stadiums; and high quality audio monitoring,
such as remote location security. TOA Canada has many solutions for the NX-100
Series product line to fit your application. Contact your Regional
Sales Manager today for more information.
